1. Why should I use a visual timer?
Visual timers make time tangible, helping children see progress and transition smoothly between activities—boosting both focus and independence.
2. Is Choo-Choo Timer free to use?
Yes! Choo-Choo Timer is completely free and runs directly in your browser—no downloads or sign-ups required.
3. Does Choo-Choo Timer work on phones and tablets?
Yes! It’s designed tablet-first and works great on iPads and Android tablets in either orientation. On phones it works best in landscape — if you open it on a phone in portrait, we’ll gently nudge you to rotate. You can also add it to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like experience.
4. How do I set the timer duration?
Tap one of the quick-set chips (1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 25 minutes) or type a number from 1 to 30 into the “Set Time” box. Then press Start and watch the train go! On a keyboard you can also press Space to start/stop and R to reset.
5. Can I use Choo-Choo Timer offline?
Yes — Choo-Choo Timer is a Progressive Web App. The first time you load it online, your browser caches the app shell, so it works offline after that. For the smoothest experience, add it to your home screen.
6. Can I customize the train or sound?
Not yet — but it’s on our roadmap. You can already mute the sound and toggle full-screen from the top-right buttons. We’d love to hear what else you’d like to personalize.
